For sometime I was searching for a Marshmallow recipe without corn syrup and candy thermometer. Finally found one when I was surfing the Internet couple of months ago. After that I have tried this recipe multiple times and each time it was a success alhamdulillah.
- Gelatin 1 tbs
- Sugar 1 cup
- Water 1/4 cup
- Cold Water 1/4 cup
- Vanilla Essence 1 tsp
- Pinch of salt
- Corn Flour 1/4 cup
- Powdered Sugar 1/4 cup
Grease a 9×5 size tray and keep it aside, keep the electric mixer ready.
In a bowl add the cold water and Sprinkle the gelatin over it and keep aside.
Meanwhile in a deep pan add in sugar, water and salt.
Heat this sugar mixture while keep stirring in medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
Now immediately pour this sugar mixture over the gelatin.
Now start to beat this mixture in low speed for first couple of minutes. Careful splutters can hurt 😯. add the vanilla essence now.
Now switched to high speed and continue to beat for 20 minutes or so until it becomes thick, creamy and double in volume.
Now immediately pour this Marshmallow batter in to the prepared tray and shape it.
Let the Marshmallow to set for 4-6 hours.
Mix the corn flour and powered sugar and keep it ready.
After Marshmallow well set remove the it to the flour dusted surface and slice it with a greased knife.
And coat the Marshmallow with Powdered sugar and corn flour until it no longer sticky.
You can make 24 medium sized mallows.
- You can use any food colouring if you like.
- Can make double colour or more per your liking.
- You can store upto 2-3 weeks in a airtighted container.
