Who do not like chocolate, me too not an exception. this is the second time I tried this recipe and it turned out well both times. I used my own dough for this one. without further delay we’ll see how to do it. hope you will all like it.
Ingredients
- All purpose flour 500 g
- Milk powder 2 tbsp
- Butter 30 g
- Egg 1 + 1 Egg white
- Egg yolk 1 for brushing
- Active Yeast 1 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Sugar 2 tbsp
- Luke warm water as required for kneading
- Nutella per your like
In small cup take some luke warm water and add the yeast and 1 tbsp sugar, give a good mix and let it sit for 15 minutes to activate. I used instant yeast but did this process.
Meanwhile in a large bowl mix all the dry ingredients. then add the egg, butter and yeast to the dry ingredients and mix well together and add the water as required to form a soft dough. knead well ,cover it and keep it in a warm place for 45 mints or double in size.
put the nutella bottle into a bowl with hot water or simply microwave it for 30 secs. this step will make the spreading process easier.
Take the dough and keep it on a floured surface and knead for one minute and divide into 4 equal parts.
Roll the First part into a shaped circle and keep it on a baking sheet and apply the chocolate spread all over the circle.
Repeat the procedure with other two layers and finally cover it with the last dough.
then keep a small glass in the center and divide the bread into equal 16 parts.
Take two parts and gently twist them over twice in opposite directions. Repeat with all pairs to form eight-armed star.
Pinch the ends together to make a petal shape. continue to do it with other parts to make 8 petals.
Brush egg yolk on top of the bread and put it in the preheated oven and bake at 180ºC /350ºF for around 15 – 20 minutes or until cooked and golden brown in colour.
Notes
Remember to melt the nutella by microwaving or keep it in side a bowl of hot water, otherwise will end up with difficulties when spreading.
you can use a plate to mark the circles and make a perfect one.
Looks very yummy.

This is tooo cool. I love the way u have of explaining things – I am a super hopeless cook and cannot even understand most recipes cos they assume u already know stuff! Thank u for ur super approachable way of presenting recipes as well as working with simple ingredients we all already have in our kitchens. Lovely!

It was very easy, yes.
The first recipe is very healthy but I have to admit it tastes a little bit less like shop-bought Nutella than the second one!
Let me know your thoughts if you do try them. x
